Study in Tasmania

Tasmania is the smallest of Australian states and is a small island located approximately 200km south of Victoria. Though small, it is well known for it’s great outdoor recreation and variety of natural environments. From it’s great lakes and rivers, stretches of rainforest and high mountainous peaks, to its farmland and meadows of alpine and eucalypt. The climate is usually mild, and the summers aren’t as extreme as more northern states.

Tasmania’s capital city is Hobart, a very beautiful city worth going to visit, if not to live in. Located on the south east coast, it is home to a world-visited harbor, and half of Tasmania’s population.

The state government centralized Tasmania’s university system into one university, the University of Tasmania. This being the case, with 3 campuses placed around the state, the university offers a complete range of programs and courses. The courses offered range from Law and medicine to IT and aquaculture, allowing the student the opportunity of choice that many universities cannot.

Tasmanian universities have a strong student support system and network that connects the academic side of things to the working industry and wider community. Therefore would be a great opportunity to gain experience in Australian business.
